What is your life telling you right now…. - WWA

What is your life telling you right now….

What is your life telling you right now….

What is your life telling you right now….

When this all first happened like all of us, after the initial shock and scramble, I moved straight into task mode to pivot my business and make lots of changes and, to be honest, I've been absolutely flat chat the last couple of weeks home in isolation.

Now I'm starting to notice different things about my life and schedule and how it relates to how I’m feeling. I've been thinking this morning about the lessons I am learning from this experience, the lessons we are all learning from this experience and I'm wondering about what yours might be? Here are a couple of mine and I would love to hear what it is that you are noticing or what you think might change for you in the future.

1. I finally realised just how much running around I do and I have savoured a more measured and paced start to my day,  allowing for time to sleep properly, make myself breakfast and coffee and meditate and just time for reflection rather than my usual routine which comprises running around the house frenetically shoving laptops & papers into bags, rummaging to find keys, whilst mentally thinking about where I'm going and the best route to get there that will have the least traffic…… have I forgotten anything and madly speaking notes into my phone.

I feel exhausted just writing that.

It's not that I can't do those things and there's a buzz and I thrive on being busy and having a compelling life, it's more that I've noticed that I feel so much better in myself when I am not putting pressure to run to a deadline, so for me, the lesson is understanding that I operate so much better putting less pressure on myself and pacing myself, so I know that something that I will need to incorporate as a new normal on the other side of isolation.

2. The next thing I've noticed is I'm trying to get comfortable with doing nothing. I've been talking about putting together a challenge for completing incompletions and updating things in our business that we never normally get time to do and I haven't done it yet. The irony in this for me is comical, becuase I know for certain that completing things feels amazing and shifts energy but again it comes back to pressure.  When I put pressure on myself or ‘have to’ be more productive or to use this time wisely as so many of us are saying is exactly when I don't enjoy doing it.

With that said, my new mantra and what I would say to others is this:
Do what works for you.
Without pressure, without judgement.

We will get on the other side of this time and there will be businesses who will snap back really quickly because of the work they put in beforehand and there are some that won't and everything in between. There will also be some that put their head under the doona and slept the isolation and work stress away.

What I've come to realise is that it's all okay.

We are all different, we all think, cope, respond, act and do joy differently so, whatever it is that is working for you - do more of that, with a spring in your step, sunshine on your shoulders and a lightness in your heart.

What are you noticing or learning about yourself or your life during this time? - comment and let us know

Until next week huge virtual hugs to you
